Skateboarding at its finest was brought to the land of Kimberley, South Africa last weekend. It was the first contest Maloof Money Cup had ever hosted in this country, and the first time we had built the Mini-Mega Ramp here. It was also the first time anyone had ever landed a tailgrab 900 on the Mini-MegaRamp! Elliot Sloan was trying this trick in the Mini-Mega Final, but it wasn’t until Sunday during the Best Trick contest, that he NAILED it! Enough said, here it is captured on video. The results of the comp our below.

As the official builder of MegaRamp events, CRW is heading to Zurich, Switzerland, for Europe’s largest freestyle sports event – Freestyle.ch Sept. 24th and 25th. The events new Crossover Section innovates by adding a professional, mini-MegaRamp skate contest and bmx demo for the first time. Professional riders PLG, Jake Brown, Adam Taylor, and Morgan Wade are a few of the guys who will be dropping in at the Zurich event. Shortly after this event, CRW will be shipping the new ramp to Santiago, Chile, for back to back mini-MegaRamp builds, all the while setting up its original mini-Mega and building a permanent Vert Ramp for Maloof South Africa, set for Sept. 30th-Oct. 2nd.

New mini-MegaRamp at Woodward East
Mini-MegaRamp History:
Though less than half the size of the original MegRamp- as seen in X Games’ “Big Air” and Danny Way stunts, the mini-MegaRamp is still massive in size. The mini-MegaRamp first debuted at the 2009 ASR show and later that year at Harmony Festival’s Eco Cup. At a fraction of the cost of the MegaRamp to build and a quarter of the time to set-up, the ramp became ideal for smaller venues to host professional MegaRamp contests and demos. As the MegaRamp gained in popularity among riders, spectators, and event vendors, the professionals needed more time to practice and ride. In 2010, Camp Woodward answered those requests, California RampWorks built a full-size MegaRamp at its West facility, and in 2011, added a mini-MegaRamp at Woodward East. Now, the ramps are being ridden by kids as young as 8 years old, and opening doors for the next generation of skaters and bmx riders, such as, Mitchie Brusco.
